A Current Affair - Some Not So Current Satire

I'm catching bits of ACA before BB this year...
Generally despicable (ACA not BB, i like BB)...
Half a decade ago on Ten all you got was the end of 'Neighbours', which generally meant twentysomething cleavage, but for ACA, nothing has changed since 'Frontline'!

There was a comedy sketch show called 'The Day Today' from the UK around 1994 that launched Armando Iannucci, Chris Morris and Steve Coogan/Alan Partridge on TV, amongst other things - i think it played here in Oz on SBS on Tuesday nights...
It was designed as a way, way over the top satire of news shows...
Today it looks like a very tame real news show...

I think i remember the wonderful Rebecca Front in an interview, maybe on BBC Radio's 'Chain Reaction' (start of series 8) and perhaps Iannucci himself somewhere, stating that they feel the news and current affairs people of the day watched 'The Day Today' and rather than feeling ashamed, copied it and ran with it...

See also 'The Thick of It'...

ie - they watched it, and it gave them ideas...

...art, life... etc
